Make-up trends for Autumn and Winter

Red lips
Glamorous red is on every ones lips this season! Loose the gloss and go for a bright, bold pop of colour from a lipstick or lip stain.

Find the red that’s right for you - burnt orange‘s, blood red ‘s, vampish reds are all great - try different tones to find the one that’s right for you.

Keep it modern by keeping the rest of your make-up minimal, nude eye colours and fresh skin will keep all attention on the lips!

Smokey eyes
Create sexy, smokey eyes with this seasons stormy colours,
greys, silvers, coal like blacks and dark blues are all big this season.

They look fantastic smudged around the eye and finished with kohl pencil and black mascara.

Team with a nude lip gloss so the focus is kept on the eyes.

Bridal beauty

Tips from our makeup artists and beauty therapists to prepare for your big day!

Water
Drink lots of it... at least 8 glasses per day will help to keep your skin clear, your eyes brighter and your skin plumped and hydrated.

Facial treatments
If you are planning to treat yourself to some facial treatments in the run up to your wedding then start approx 6 months before your wedding.

It is not a good idea to try any new facial treatments close to  your wedding day incase you have an unexpected reaction.

Skincare at home

  • Always remove your make-up!
  • Cleanse skin well, daily.
  • Exfoliate 1-2 times per week with a mild facial exfoliant, this will remove dead skin cells and leave skin smooth and radiant!
  • Keep skin moisturised - it is important to moisturise even oily skin with a suitable moisturiser.

Make-up consultations
Book your make-up consultations for at least 2 months before your wedding if possible.  Your makeup artist can give you valuable advice on preparing your skin or helping with any areas of concern you may have.

Pull pictures out of magazines of any looks you like or make notes to give your makeup artist an idea of the look you would like to create.

False tan
Always have a practice! Professional tans give the best finish but whether you are having a spray tan or doing it d.i.y, always try it out first.

Always make sure skin has been well exfoliated and moisturised before applying false tan to achieve even streak free results.

It’s a great idea to have your false tan practice before your makeup trials, this means your make-up artist can see the colour your skin will be on the day.

Nails
Having regular manicures in the lead up to your wedding is a great idea to get your nails in good condition, failing that, use a cuticle oil, push back cuticles, file nails and use a good hand cream regularly.

If you are having nail extensions or a manicure for your wedding day a day or two before the wedding is best so it is nice and fresh.

Why not use our wedding eve pampering service? Our beauty therapists will come to your home or venue and provide beauty treatments for you and your bridal party - a great chance to sit back and relax while getting your nails perfected for the big day!

Brows
Having well groomed brows is a must for you wedding day. A well shaped brow frames your face and lifts the eye area. If you don’t have your brows shaped regularly then get it done by a professional, it is easy to over pluck when doing it yourself and end up with sparse uneven brows!

Most importantly, chill out!
Make sure you take time out from all your busy preparations to have some relaxation and get plenty of sleep in the run up to your wedding to leave you looking and feeling your best!
